Pastor Steve has decades of experience in ministry, from his hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee to foreign mission fields across the globe. He received his degree in Bible Education from Columbia Bible College, then continued his education with a Masters in Divinity from Grace Theological Seminary and later earned a Doctorate in Biblical Theology from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. The Pastor also has a strong musical background, and when not in the pulpit, he can be found singing and playing a variety of instruments alongside the worship team. Steve and his wife Marlene are beloved by their 3 children and 9 grandchildren, in addition to the entire Shearer congregation.
Cory spent over a decade in the restaurant industry, nearly two decades in real estate, and even toured with a contemporary Christian band before joining the staff at Shearer. He has a long history with Shearer, previously serving as a Deacon before serving on the Session as a Ruling Elder and regularly teaching adult Sunday School classes. He adores his wife Kristin and raising their three beautiful children with her. He is currently enrolled in LAMP Theological Seminary pursuing a Bachelor of Divinity and has come under care of the Catawba Valley Presbytery with the end goal of obtaining ordination as a Teaching Elder in the PCA.
Jane is a beloved member of the Shearer community. From sending sweet cards to helping make sure everyone's contact information is properly stored and updating major events on our calendar, Jane is often working behind-the-scenes but plays a crucial role in making sure Shearer runs smoothly!
