Privacy Policy

Shearer Presbyterian Church ("we," "us," or "Shearer") operates shearerpca.org. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors to this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

• Information you give us. If you fill in a form on this site (Plan a Visit, prayer request, contact), we collect what you type: typically your name, email, phone, and your message. If you give online, that transaction is handled by our giving processor, not by us directly, and we don't store your card information.
• Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours uses Google Analytics 4 to measure how many people visit and which pages they read. GA4 collects your approximate location (city level), the pages you view, how long you stay, and the referring source. We have IP anonymization turned on, so your full IP is not stored.

How we use it

• Form submissions go to the church office (Secretary@shearerpca.org) so we can follow up. If you asked to plan a visit, we may also add you to our visitor list in Breeze, our church management software, so a pastor or elder can reach out.
• Analytics helps us improve the site. We do not sell this data and we do not run advertising based on it.
• Prayer requests are seen only by the pastor and elders unless you specifically ask for them to be shared more broadly.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information to anyone. We share information in only three cases:

• Our service providers (Google for analytics, GoDaddy for site hosting, Breeze for church records, our giving processor for donations) see the data they need to do their job.
• Our pastor and elders see pastoral-care information you share with them.
• If we are legally required to disclose information, we will.

Cookies

We use first-party cookies and browser storage for:

• Remembering device-level preferences (which pane you had open, etc.)
• Google Analytics measurement (described above)
• Remembering the source that referred you (so if you came from a Facebook ad and later filled in a form, we know that)

You can clear these cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking them doesn't break the site; it just removes those small conveniences.

Children

This website is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information through it. If you are a parent and believe your child has submitted a form on this site, email us and we'll remove the information.

Your choices

You can email Secretary@shearerpca.org any time to ask what we have about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Changes

If we update this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be noted on this page.
